Orlando joined my yard in December 2007.  He is owned by the Dalton family, the Graham and Gordon families, and me.  He was formerly ridden by Selina Elliott and finished 7th at Le Lion d’Angers 6 year old championships.

He has super paces, good enough to do pure dressage, a very careful, scopey jump, and is so brave and straight across country.  I feel very fortunate to have the ride on such a great horse.

In 2008 we gained some good placings at Intermediate level.  Orlando jumped double clear in his first CIC** at Brightling, and finished the season at Necarne CCI**.

In 2009 we finished 12th at Tattersalls CCI** with a double clear, and finished 10th in our first Advanced at Aston le Walls.  We also completed Blenheim CIC***.

In 2010 Orlando had some great results, winning at Little Downham OI, finishing 5th at both Blenheim CIC*** and Houghton CIC*** and 3rd at Hartpury CIC***.  He finished the season at Boekelo CCI*** where unfortunately we picked up an unlucky 20 penalties for crossing our tracks, but he gave me a great ride and I know he is a seriously exciting horse for the future, and for the 2012 Olympics.

Orlando had a great season in 2011.  He finished 6th at Saumur CCI***, and was never unplaced in his one day runs.  He won Gatcombe OI and was 2nd at Little Downham OI, and 3rd at Tweseldown OI.  We finished the season at Pau CCI****, his first CCI****, where he was going like a dream, clear, until I had a fall 2 fences from home.

So far this season, he has finished 10th at Gatcombe AI, and 3rd at Burnham Market CIC***, with a personal best in the dressage, of 37.2.  Our next run is at Badminton, where we hope to wow the selectors for the Olympic Team.
