Daisy was owned by myself, Judy Gardner and Anita Dalton. We bought her from Kate Walls in October 2009. She was a stunning looking mare, with 3 fantastic paces and careful scopey jump, combined with a lovely temperament. We competed at BE 100 level in 2010, winning at Sapey, and finishing 2nd at Milton Keynes, and 4th at Little Downham. She also jumped clear across country round her first Novice at Berkshire College. In 2011 Daisy had some great placings at BE 100 level, and picked up her first point finishing 6th in the Novice at Berkshire College. Unfortunately after Berkshire College Daisy started to become hesitant on the cross country, which was very out of character for her. After veterinary investigation, we discovered there were some problems in one of her fetlock joints. It was medicated, and she was turned out for the rest of the season. Sadly, during this rest, she suddenly became very lame, and we took her to Rossdale's Veterinary Hospital. It turned out she had quite a large tear to her deep flexor tendon, and although it has been operated on, she is unlikely to compete ever again. Judy, Anita and I all made the decision to give her to Vicky Laing who has a large breeding programme in place, and she will be put in foal next year. It is very sad that I will not have Daisy as part of my string any longer as she was such a super horse with a serious future ahead of her. I am sure she will go on to produce stunning foals. Maybe I will get to compete one of them one day.
